Microsoft is slowly but surely lifting the veil of secrecy surrounding its next version of the widely used Windows operating oystem, code-named Longhorn. "

Few highlights worth knowing are:
1. The system is moving to Least-Privileged User Access as a privilege default, so that end users can't accidentally install malicious files
2. Imagine a laptop with an LCD on the outside cover, so you can still see your next appointment even when the laptop is closed
3. Longhorn, Allchin told me, will be a platform for the next ten years, with the new Avalon graphics system, the Indigo Web services system, and, eventually, the delayed WinFS file system

Yet an another learning curve for users in 2006 and this is there to stay for another 5-10 yrs ...



 

Google's My Search History feature

About My Search History:

Ever find what you're looking for with Google, then promptly forget what you found? If so, you'll enjoy My Search History, a new service on Google Labs which lets you view and manage your search history from any computer via "My Search History" links in the upper-right corner of your Google home page and search results pages.

My Suggestions to Google which I sent to their team ...

"I have some usability features here
a) I noticed i can delete my searches in the history, Can I also organize my searches based on Labels like in Gmail that way I can see my recent searches Vs category/label history searches ....
b) Also can you guys add the feature of adding URL to this history through Google tool bar just like how blogging icon is available on toolbar, that way I can store my URL's when i come across them, it is not that I always search sometimes we do also have URL's referred/seen elsewhere which we don't want to lose ...
